Noisy peacocks in the morning.

Your hotel is in the middle of a theme style park so you are left to your own devices once there, which suited us fine. The hut is basic but caters for your needs, its quirkyness is the key here so dont expect luxury, there is a fridge in the room and hut further up the hill has a microwave - we put some wine and beers in the fridge and when coming back from dinner in estpona (you cant have dinner at the park) sat and enjoyed the quiet with a cold drink! Good air-con was also appreciated. The nearest huts to the reception (Massai) have showers the other further up have baths, but then you are faced with a trek to get to/from them. We were picked up at reception and taken to the top end of the park, having our own private tour of the animals once again, having done it during the day in a large safari vehicle, so this was a bonus. Breakfast was buffet style, simple, help yourself but adequate - plus you enjoy the views across the whole park and beyond. Dont expect oppulent luxury or 5 star treatment just do the night and enjoy the experience. Comments re health/care of the animals we are unsure of - they all looked absolutely worn out and frazzled in the sun - but so did all the humans! It´s free into the park and you get gree parking as a hotel guest, so factor this in when considering the price.
Poor girl on reception had to deal with us checking in and the queue for tickets for the park. Tea/coffee in the room would have been nice. Not very good signage to the huts, you are given a map and have to find them whilst dragging your suitcases along. Good experience for one night but you would not want to stay longer.

The Selwo Lodge provides an excellent opportunity to see the animals and birds in an almost natural setting. As guests you are allowed to roam most of the park before and after the daily visitors have left. The huts are small but clean. Each hut is equipped with a fridge and fully equipped bathroom. The price provides lots of value. The lodge is great for single/couples and especially if you have children who love nature.
We enjoyed all aspects of this place.

This hotel offers great value for money with its reasonable prices and attention to detail. Situated on a quiet hill, it provides a stunning view over the Costa del Sol outside the park area. The rooms are equipped with basic amenities, including comfy beds and air conditioning. Additionally, breakfast is included, making it a convenient and affordable option for a stay in this nice area of the park.
All was fine during my stay.

The kindness and helpfulness of the staff.
The food- it was awful. £30 for three revolting microwaved pizza's with squirty cheese on top. No evening meal facilities at all meaning you have to leave the resort. It really would benefit the hotel to address this.

The safari tour was amazing, experiencing the close encounters with the animals was a real thrill. , the lodges were unique and provided a different and enjoyable accommodation experience. The location, though a bit far from the city, was surrounded by nature and offered a peaceful atmosphere.
The language barrier was a big problem, as most of the staff could not speak English. This made it difficult to communicate and get assistance when needed.

Excellent value for money. It is 24.50 euros per person per day to visit the park and we only paid 56 euros for the hotel, breakfast and 2 day passes for 2 people. Everything closes at 6 P.M. so if you don't want to leave the park take a pic-nic (there is a full size fridge in the room with a small freezer compartment) Most of the park is closed off during the evening but there is still some parts you can walk around undisturbed. Wonderful experience.
The wolves and baboons can be abit noisy at night!!!

Beautifully designed park. The animals appeared well cared for.
There is quite a distance to walk from carpark to cabin and there are no luggage trollies. Also have to wait for transport to go to breakfast and back

You actually stay in the park. In the morning you have the park to yourself before normal visitors are allowed in. You are allowed to check in from 12.00 so to make the most of your stay arrive in the early afternoon and do a tour of the park then. In the morning you should do another tour. We found we saw different things at the different times of day.
Bed was a bit firm. Its hard work moving your luggage around in the heat of summer. If you are only stopping for one night. Just take an overnight bag and leave everything else in the car.

I enyoyd my stay and I love the jacuzzi bath and being able to sleep at a zoo is brilliant and I love the safari trucks.
The tigers in central village didnt have enough space and I would like a lot less bars on the animals.

The property's hilltop location provides a jaw-dropping view of the coast. The "hut" conditions were decent, but could be improved. The park offers fascinating attractions like lemur interaction, suspended bridges, and a fantastic safari. It's a large park that requires about 4 hours to explore fully. The breakfast was satisfactory. The Watu room was comfortable with spectacular views and a luxurious jacuzzi bathtub. The pick-ups and drop-offs by Selwo taxis were perfect for getting around. The educational park tour provided by guides was well worth it. The Serengeti Safari included with the stay was amazing, and it was delightful to enjoy the evenings on the hut's terrace listening to the cheetahs growling. Waking up to the sounds of birds made us feel like we were in Africa. Our Masai hut was clean, quiet, and had an English TV station. The safari trip was a highlight, with ample space and personal attention from the guide. The breakfast had plenty of choices, although it started a bit late at 10am. it was a mind-blowing experience for us as adults, and the lemur exhibit was exceptional. This stay offered exceptional value as well.

The hotel's location is convenient for meals as it's uphill to the park and walking distance to the nearest town. the room and bathroom were clean, but the view didn't exist. Breakfast was tasty and offered a good variety. the staff were helpful and kind.
The free parking was limited and hard to find, plus additional amenities are expensive.
